Double Umami Burger Recipe

Juicy beef patties are blended with shiitake mushrooms and OohNami’s Robust Gochu Chili Sauce, creating a rich, deeply savory burger with layers of umami in every bite.

Stacked on a soft brioche bun with tangy kimchi pickles, crisp lettuce, and fresh red onion, it’s a bold, Korean-inspired take on a classic—balanced, craveable, and full of flavor.

Ingredients

  • 475 g ground beef
  • ½ cup shiitake mushrooms, minced
  • ½ cup OohNami! Robust Gochu Chili Sauce
  • ¾ cup Korean kimchi, drained
  • 2 slices red onion, ¼-inch thick
  • 4 pieces green lettuce
  • 4 brioche buns

Directions

  1. Prepare the burger patties
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, minced shiitake mushrooms, and OohNami! Robust Gochu Chili Sauce.
    Mix until well combined.
Form into four 6-ounce patties, about 1 inch thick.
  2. Cook the burgers
Cook the patties on a grill, griddle, or stovetop frying pan.
    Flip halfway through cooking.
For medium-well doneness, cook for 4–5 minutes per side, or adjust to your preferred doneness.
  3. Assemble the burgers
Build each burger in the following order:
    Burger bun heel
    1 green lettuce leaf
    1 cooked OohNami! burger patty
